Doddiscombsleigh Parish Council Is Looking For a Lengthsman

Doddiscombsleigh Parish Council is looking for a contractor who would provide lengthsman services in the next 2 years, starting from April 2026. Duties include drain clearing, grass cutting, general maintenance and any other occasional jobs that the Parish Council deems necessary in the village.

The contractor needs to be

• self-employed
• have their own equipment
• have their own insurance of minimum £5 million
• flexible to carry out the requested works within short notice.

The job involves 4-6 hours/month drain clearing in the winter months and occasional grass cutting and drain clearing during the summer. If a need arises for other paid lengthsman services, the Council will order the works from the chosen contractor.
